On August 3, 2024, Lake County lost Master Deputy Sheriff Bradley Michael Link to gunfire. He was 28 years old. Behind badge 2836 was a public servant whose life had already been shaped by six years in law enforcement and service as a United States Army Reserve veteran. His death leaves a grief that cannot be reduced to a line in a memorial record. Deputy Link responded with other deputies to a disturbance at a residence near Eustis, Florida. What followed took his life, but his return of fire enabled other deputies to escape, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office memorial.
