The Gun Didn’t Change. The Kids Did.

There was a time in upstate New York when high schools had gun clubs and nobody flinched. Students rolled into the school parking lot with shotguns mounted on racks inside their trucks, and nobody called the cops. Boys cleaned their rifles during shop class. Girls learned how to shoot skeet. After school, they went hunting or fishing, then home for dinner with their families.

No school shootings. No lockdown drills. No fear.

It wasn’t the guns. Firearms were more accessible back then than they are today. It wasn’t the culture. Schools still taught respect. Families still raised kids with structure. The real shift began when we decided to start drugging the youth of America into submission.

We told boys their energy was a disorder. We told girls their mood swings were chemical problems. We labeled everything and then pushed pharmaceuticals on children whose brains were still developing.

And now we wonder why everything feels broken.

Pharmaceuticals Are Rewriting Young Minds

This is not just about psychiatric medications. Teenagers are being flooded with mind-altering drugs for nearly every inconvenience, injury, and emotion.

Here’s what an average high schooler might be prescribed today:

  • Asthma inhalers

  • Steroids for inflammation and joint pain

  • Sleep aids for broken sleep cycles

  • Nicotine patches

  • Allergy medications

  • Migraine treatments

  • Stimulants like Adderall and Ritalin

  • Anti-anxiety drugs that dull the senses

  • Antidepressants that flatten the spirit

  • Hormonal birth control disrupting natural development

  • Painkillers after sports injuries

  • Acne medications that tamper with internal balance

These aren’t minor interventions. They are rewiring the next generation, and they are doing it with a doctor’s signature.

If you want to see what those drugs really do to the mind, check the official warnings at Drugs.com and read the side effects for yourself. Suicidal thoughts, mood swings, emotional detachment, aggression—all common.

Mass Shootings Are the Symptom. Pharma Is the Cause.

We are shocked when a young man walks into a school and commits an unthinkable act of violence, but we never stop to consider what his daily prescription list looks like. We mourn when a teenager takes their own life, but we never ask what chemical alterations their brain has been subjected to for the past five years. We fear the next school shooting, but we refuse to admit that we are chemically manufacturing the very instability that leads to these tragedies.

You cannot fill a child with synthetic hormones, mood stabilizers, and stimulants, then expect them to function as if they are thinking clearly and feeling normally. You cannot medicate away pain, insecurity, and identity confusion without triggering long-term neurological damage. We are not calming these children. We are rewriting their brains. We are manufacturing dysfunction.

And then we hand them devices and media that amplify that dysfunction, while surrounding them with a culture that mocks God, glorifies death, and celebrates nihilism.

This is not a gun crisis. This is a pharmaceutical crisis. And the only way out is to stop pretending it isn’t.

If you want your children to survive this culture, get them out of the system that is killing them softly, pill by pill.
