America’s borders are wide open and we are all paying the price. How much more blood must be shed before our so-called leaders put the safety of citizens above political games?
In April 2007, Juan Crisantos Ramos, a forty-six year old Mexican national with a conviction for second degree murder and burglary in New Jersey, was arrested in Nogales, Arizona after trying to sneak back into the United States just months after being deported. This is not some harmless border crosser. This is a convicted killer who, after serving time for taking a life, was supposedly removed from our soil only to return almost immediately.
Think about that for a moment. After a serious, violent crime and after serving his prison sentence, Crisantos Ramos was deported just as the law requires. But instead of staying out, he ignored our laws, our borders, and every family who counts on America to keep predators like this away.
It is a national disgrace. If a convicted murderer can walk right back into the country, what does that say about our border security? About the politicians who refuse to enforce the law? About the activist judges and bureaucrats who are more worried about so-called compassion for criminals than the safety of their fellow Americans? Families across the country have every right to be furious and afraid.
According to the Arizona Daily Star, Crisantos Ramos was taken into custody by the Border Patrol after trying to re-enter illegally. His record includes second degree murder and burglary in New Jersey. The fact that this was not his first brush with American law enforcement should make every law-abiding citizen demand answers.
How many more convicted killers are slipping through our broken borders right now? How many more families will have to lose loved ones before this government finally puts Americans first?
Final Thought
The sad reality is this. Until our leaders take border security seriously and stop letting violent criminals exploit our system, these tragedies will keep happening. The American people deserve better and it is time to demand it.
