This Should Never Have Happened
What happened to Miles Yardley is not a mystery. It is not a case of miscommunication or honest error. It is a clear example of what happens when irresponsible adults put ideology before reason and agenda before truth.
At just fifteen years old, Miles was placed on androgen blockers and cross-sex hormones by doctors at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. No comprehensive psychological evaluation. No meaningful waiting period. No genuine understanding of the irreversible consequences. Just blind affirmation from adults who should have known better.
“They very quickly put me on hormones without really any discernment. Looking back, if I were a doctor, I would think this is a much larger decision than the kid thinks that it is.”
This is not a child’s fault. This is the fault of grown men and women — physicians, therapists, teachers, and even clergy — who encouraged, enabled, and celebrated his confusion instead of guiding him through it.
They were supposed to protect him. Instead, they profited from him.

A Generation Betrayed by Those in Power
Miles wasn’t a rebel. He wasn’t confused until others told him to be. He was a musically gifted young man with a gentle nature and a love of singing. But he was surrounded by voices who whispered that his sensitivity meant he must have been born wrong.
“I had not questioned my own identity before other people started asking me questions and putting that on me.”
In a culture obsessed with labels and political points, he became a project. The system wanted a perfect transgender child, and Miles was handed over to them.
Doctors praised him. Activists elevated him. The fashion world embraced him as a symbol. None of them cared who he really was. They cared about the story they could tell with his body.
The Real Cost: A Broken Body and a Questionable Future
By age 25, Miles was diagnosed with a pituitary tumor and hypothyroidism, conditions that research increasingly links to long-term hormone usage in young people. His health is compromised. His fertility may be gone. His body is damaged. And the adults who enabled this remain silent.
“I’m hurting myself. I’m poisoning myself. I’m sterilizing myself. The normal things that bring meaning to normal people’s lives I’m shut off from because I can’t have children in this state.”
This is not empowerment. It is mutilation disguised as medicine. It is abuse carried out with a smile and a prescription pad. The adults told him he was becoming his true self. What they gave him was lifelong harm and a body that may never recover.
Abandoned by the Very People Who Pushed Him
When Miles began to detransition, the institutions that once treated him like a trophy simply disappeared. There was no help. No guidance. No plan to undo the damage. The system that had so confidently altered his biology had nothing to offer him once he stepped off their path.
“I’ve asked multiple doctors for advice, and they don’t know what to do. They just say, ‘You should ask someone else.’”
He was no longer profitable. So they moved on.
The Church Opened a Door the World Slammed Shut
In the middle of his suffering, Miles found something that the medical establishment could not give him. He found faith. He found peace. He walked back into the church not as Salomé, the trans socialite, but as Miles, the man he was always meant to be.
“Having spent 10 years in the female role, I don’t really know how to be a man. That’s a scary jump for me.”
It is scary because the world never taught him. But Christ calls us into the truth, even when the road is hard. And unlike the world, Christ never abandons those who come home.
The Fight Has Just Begun
Miles is suing the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia for malpractice. It is a step toward justice, but it will never return what was stolen. What was done to him was not just a mistake. It was a systemic betrayal by powerful adults who abandoned reason, morality, and responsibility in favor of a politically fashionable lie.
“Hospitals make a lot of money from these procedures. They benefit from having lifelong patients. You need the hormones to maintain the identity.”
He is right. This is not about science. It is about profit. About ideology. About control.
And it is happening to thousands of children across America.
Let Boys Be Boys Again
“If you’re a gender-nonconforming kid, you should be allowed to be yourself. And if that person likes singing and dancing and Barbie dolls, who really cares? You can be a boy who likes that.”
Instead of celebrating the God-given uniqueness of our sons, we are forcing them to chemically and surgically conform to a false identity. Instead of offering love, we offer lies. Instead of healing, we offer hormones.
This must stop.
Let boys be sensitive. Let girls be strong. Let children explore without being carved up and renamed by adults who should know better. And let the Church be the place that welcomes them with truth, love, and protection — not confusion and compromise.
Because God does not make mistakes.
But the adults who mutilated this boy certainly did.
